Michelle Situ’s continuous pursuit of community and connection derives from the places she calls home, Lincoln Heights and Chinatown. Growing up in one of the oldest neighborhoods of Los Angeles, Michelle proudly embraces its cultural richness and diversity. Along with attending the iconic Chinese Confucius Temple School in Chinatown, her childhood consisted of devouring endless amounts of pork floss buns and raspados, running wild down the streets with friends, sharing peeled fruits, and perfecting the art of haggling. Michelle’s identity is strongly and deeply rooted in the cultural history and heritage of her parents, family, and community.

Michelle was crowned Miss Los Angeles Chinatown 1st Princess in 2024. She inherited a sisterhood from her pageant journey which she deeply holds near and dear to her heart. She now joins the MLAC committee with the goal of expanding her contribution and effort to support, highlight, and share the Chinese American community and to further inspire the future young women of Miss Los Angeles Chinatown.

Today, Michelle showcases her advocacy for inclusivity and representation by aligning herself with platforms and opportunities that share the same mission. She is an ambassador for MAUM Market, an Asian makers’ market whose purpose is to present safe and supportive spaces for Asian owned small businesses through cultural creation, curation, and collaboration.

“A child at heart” can be best used to describe Michelle’s life. She lives life to its fullest as a free spirit but also relishes the small things in life. She loves concerts, comedy, desserts, and most of all her two quirky dogs. The impression and influence Michelle hopes to convey is that there is only one you, so be the best you and live your life unapologetically. And if you find it expensive, Michelle can and will negotiate a better price. Who doesn’t love a good deal.
