THE FUTURE 100 Years for Chinese Americans in Los Angeles
In 1850, a small group of Chinese arrived in Los Angeles. By 1900, there were 3,000 Chinese living in the Chinatown area. Today, there are 160,000 Chinese American owned businesses bringing in more than $70 billion in taxable revenues and employing more than 500,000 people. It goes without saying that Chinese American business have contributed an important role in shaping the future of Los Angeles.
What might our future look like?

Through these programs, we believe we can enhance our social and economic influence within the greater community at large, and provide a platform for Chinese American businesses to flourish.
To our current Chamber members, thank you for your continued support. Los Angeles is thriving, join us as we continue to grow.
For Our Future, let’s rebuild the Chinatown brand and establish The 100 Years’ Foundation for Chinese American generations to come. It will be a time for us to deploy significant resources to renovate, rejuvenate and elevate Chinatown, and make it our new home.
Together, we can and will build a stronger community where everyone belongs.
Message from the President
Welcome to the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles.
This truly was an astonishing sight, seeing hundreds of thousands of people joining the 120th Golden Dragon Parade on February 09, 2019 in Chinatown to celebrate the Chinese New Year tradition, and the Chinese Chamber’s rich heritage and culture. This made it the largest ever parade in Los Angeles Chinatown’s history.
In January of this year, I was honored to assume leadership as the 25th President of the Chinese Chamber, and proud that it is one of the oldest and largest business associations in the Greater Los Angeles area.
The Chinese Chamber is a California 501(c)(6) tax-exempt, non-profit organization that has been leading and serving the business community since 1955. The Chinese Chamber promotes the interests of our member companies by encouraging trade, business growth and new opportunities.
The Chinese Chamber is open to collaborate with all community leaders and to promote our shared vision for better future tomorrow.
For Our Future, it is our time, and our responsibility, to deploy significant resources to renovate, rejuvenate and elevate the Chinatown, from a poor door to a rich door.
For Our Future, it is the time to reassemble the Chinese Chamber brand and establish The 100 Years’ Foundation, and enable the American Dream for generations of Chinese Americans to come. The Foundation will support four major funds:
Education Scholarship Fund – this fund will enable many of our young people to attend Chinese-oriented schools and camp programs, and deserving students with hardships to seek scholarship funding for higher education.
The Grant Opportunity Fund – this fund dedicated to economics and business, with a focus on new and untested ideas for innovation, environment, energy, science, and technology entrepreneurship.
The Healthcare Fund – this fund will support better health and wellbeing.
The Political and Society Fund – this fund provides advocacy for laws and policies that will support policy making campaigns for Chinese American leaders and elected officials to pursue justice and equality.
Whether you’re starting on business at a modest scale or overseeing substantial multi-national assets, Chinese Chamber can provide the bridge for you to fund our Foundation or be a recipient of our Foundation.
I’d also thank our current Chamber members for your continued support. For those of you who are not yet a member, you will find that becoming part of Chinese Chamber will open new doors to great opportunities. We are always creating new networking and promotional opportunities to help our member businesses succeed and grow. Members receive space to advertise on the Chamber website, business referrals, monthly networking opportunities, continuing education and economic data to better inform their business decisions.
Last, I want to thank the residents, business owners, visitors, students, and community volunteers for making Chinatown a special place to live, work and play.
Thank you for the opportunity to be of service to you.
