Chester Chong
Chester Chong is the President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and has a history with the Chamber dating back to 1988, when he first joined as a Board member. Over the past 30 years, he has held positions with the Chamber as Board Member (1988-1990), Vice President (1990-2016), Secretary General (2016-2017), and President (2007-2017). He has had a long and successful career across a diverse set of industries, including roles as Chairman of American Magazines & Books Inc. and Chairman of Superspeed Transportation Group, where he is currently still involved. Chester is an exemplary citizen of the Los Angeles community and has served in capacities such as the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Civil Air Patrol Captain of Mission Pilot Rescue Team, the American Angel Flight Mission Pilot and the County of Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department as Reserve Commander. He was awarded the Outstanding Business Achievement Award by International Lions Club (1991), recognized as Honorary California Goodwill Ambassador by the California Secretary of State (1991) and received both the prestigious Meritorious Service Award and Exemplary Service Award presented by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (2005 and 2006). He has a diploma of International Cultural Exchange issued by Peking University, China, an Honorary Doctoral Degree of Human Letters issued by the University for Humanistic Studies, San Diego, and an Honorary Doctoral Degree of Business Administration, issued by Armstrong University, California.
