“Sichuan Earthquake Relief Fund” set up by Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles, is a collaborative effort with the Asian American Chamber Association (AACA), a business organization recently founded by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles, Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Southern California and Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles. AACA’s establishment is through the initiation of the Annual Asian Friendship Golf Tournament in 2006, the friendship of the Asian American Chambers of Commerce of Southern California has matured into a relationship of trust and reliance. How one enjoyable golf tournament turned into a strong union is the product of dedication and loyalty among the Chinese, Japanese, and Korean Chambers. With the Asian American Chamber Agreement, we solidify our friendship and ties with each other through this promise to assist each other in community and commerce relations. Through this collaboration, each Chamber will best utilize their expertise and culture to create a new era of globalization in Southern California. Each Asian nation can work individually to expand its commerce and culture, but together an alliance of nations in this era of trade globalization will undoubtedly create a grand impression in Asian American commerce.
Today, on the other side of the globe, there are thousands of earthquake victims waiting for miracles to happen and looking forward to seeing their loved ones being rescued or found. With AACA’s motto in mind, there is truly no differences in countries, races and cultures. The Country, the City and the Citizens are desperately in need of around the world’s healing hands. We, here in Los Angeles, can lend our healing hands by making donations through Cathay Bank for the Red Cross. Our help can get to Sichuan, China, if we all start to act now.
